Ny paleokokbok i bokhyllan

Precis fått en ny paleokokbok. Det är The Paleo Approach Cookbook av Sarah Ballantyne.

Tyvärr är jag lite dålig på att testa recept ur mina kokböcker. Problemet är att det ofta är ingredienser som man inte har och som är lite krångliga att få tag på i de böcker som är från USA. Dessutom är det oftast amerikanska mått som lb och cups i böckerna. I denna bok är det angivet i amerikanska mått , men det finns en omvandlingstabell på ett ställe i boken. Något som jag t.ex. inte lyckats beställa är Palm Shortening (går inte att beställa från USA då de märken som jag känner till inte skickar till Sverige) och det är det på några ställen i boken.

Trots detta så beställde jag denna kokbok som framförallt riktar sig till de som har en autoimmun sjukdom (typ RA, MS och Diabetes). Detta på grund av att jag vet att det finns några recept på inälvsmat vilket jag vill bli bättre på att äta och sedan vet jag att Sarah inriktar sig mycket på att äta näringsrik mat vilket är det jag tycker är viktigt (även om jag inte alltid håller på det själv). En annan anledning är att jag verkligen uppskattar Sarahs (och Staceys) podcast, The Paleo View och eftersom den är gratis så vill jag sponsra hennes arbete genom att köpa hennes böcker.

Har hennes andra bok The Paleo Approach där hon skriver om hur kost och livsstil kan påverka autoimmuna sjukdomar och den är väldigt intressant (så långt som jag läst). Dock är den ibland rätt teknisk och invecklad (det är ju ett komplext ämne) även om hon är bra på att förklara saker och mekanismer på ett bra sätt. I hennes kokbok så är det också en hel del teori, men om jag förstått det rätt på ett enklare sätt. Det finns också många guider och tips på hur man kan jobba effektivt i köket.
Gillar att man får reda på hur mycket varje rätt innehåller av mineraler och vitaminer.
